FCCCO CXO Rendez-Vous: Global Mobility, Immigration Law and Leadership with Cosmina Morariu, Managing Partner and Julie Lessard, Partner at Fragomen
The SME Club: Adecco and the Future of Workforce Solutions
Before the CXO Rendez-Vous, participants gathered for the FCCCO’s SME Club, a dedicated session highlighting the expertise and activities of one of the Chamber’s member companies.
For this September edition, Andrea Mancini, VP of Sales at Adecco, presented the company’s approach to today’s evolving workforce needs and the solutions it provides to organizations across Canada.
From flexible placement and permanent recruitment to outsourcing, training and inclusion, the presentation highlighted Adecco’s approach to talent, with a strong focus on skills development, employability and supporting people throughout their professional journey.

Fragomen: Immigration Beyond the Transaction
Founded in 1951, Fragomen has grown into one of the world’s leading immigration firms, providing immigration services to businesses and individuals in more than 170 countries worldwide.
Fragomen supports clients across a wide range of immigration needs, including visas, temporary and permanent residence, government relations, risk management and compliance.
During the conversation, Cosmina and Julie emphasized what lies at the heart of the firm’s approach: immigration is ultimately about people, not simply transactions.
Beyond navigating immigration processes, Fragomen focuses on building long-term relationships and supporting both companies and individuals throughout their mobility journey. Diversity is also central to Fragomen’s culture, bringing together people with different backgrounds and perspectives.
This people-first philosophy also extends to the firm’s commitment to responsible business practices and pro bono initiatives.

Navigating an Evolving Immigration Landscape
Canada’s evolving immigration landscape is creating new challenges for organizations seeking to attract and retain international talent. While Canada continues to offer numerous pathways for international mobility, companies must navigate an increasingly complex landscape of programs, processing timelines and evolving government priorities.
The conversation highlighted the importance of having the right knowledge, partners and guidance to navigate these changes effectively, particularly as global competition for talent continues to intensify.
For organizations, global mobility is therefore becoming much more than an administrative function: it is increasingly connected to workforce planning, talent strategy and long-term business growth.
AI, Technology and the Human Side of Transformation
At Fragomen, AI is already helping streamline processes and reduce time spent on administrative tasks. A key message emerged from the discussion: investing in AI also means investing in people.
Technology can enable employees to focus on their strengths, but organizations must simultaneously invest in training and skills development to ensure that their teams grow alongside these new tools.
Rather than replacing the human dimension of immigration services, AI can create more space for what technology cannot replicate: empathy, relationships and judgment.
Building a Path to Leadership
Cosmina Morariu and Julie Lessard shared some of the experiences and lessons that shaped their careers. From following a passion to discovering new opportunities along the way, their stories showed that careers do not always follow a predefined path.
Both emphasized the importance of staying open to opportunities, surrounding yourself with the right people and being willing to step outside your comfort zone.
They encouraged emerging leaders to embrace new opportunities and challenges, even when they require stepping outside their comfort zone. They both suggested that being uncomfortable can often be a sign that you are learning and growing.
Creating Value Through Community
For Fragomen, being part of the Chamber is not simply about transactions or business development. It is an opportunity to learn from other leaders, share perspectives and contribute to the France–Canada business community.
This philosophy reflects the purpose of the FCCCO’s CXO Rendez-Vous: creating a trusted environment bringing leaders together to exchange ideas, discuss shared challenges and build meaningful connections.
The FCCCO extends its sincere thanks to Cosmina Morariu and Julie Lessard for sharing their perspectives and experiences, to Andrea Mancini and Adecco for opening the evening’s SME Club, and to the Université de l’Ontario français for hosting us.
We also thank all participants for contributing to another engaging edition of the FCCCO CXO Rendez-Vous.
